A registered sex offender’s lawsuit against the Indiana Secretary of State and other parties will proceed, a federal judge ruled Thursday, denying the defendants’ motion to dismiss.
Blackford County resident ____ ____ filed the federal suit alleging his First and 14th Amendment rights were violated because he cannot vote at the local polling place located in the Blackford County High School auxiliary gym. ____’s suit challenges I.C. 35-42-4-14 that prohibits “serious sex offenders” from entering school property. Yes, I so agree! When you have been arrested/paid your debt to society and fulfilled the requirements of probation or parole, you should be able to get on with your life. I find it very hateful when your prohibited from visiting Church or capable of voting. I can maybe understand some restrictions while on probation etc, but this is getting old
Well, at least the ACLU in some States – NOT in California – is willing to take up cases relating to the rights of Registered Citizens!
